"Are you still interested?"

So,

I got a message from my recruiting centre yesterday saying that I should call them back regarding my selection.  I called them back, and was asked whether or not I was still interested in the position.  The recruiter said that this was not a regular thing and that she was unsure as to why it was being done with the current recruits, and so I'm confused.

Does anyone know why they would make calls like this?

What you should do is, just call them back. If they want you to call then call. Whats the big deal?

Maybe they are short on the postion you applied for?

I got asked the same question twice. Once, when they called me to schedule my pt test, and the second time when they called me to schedule a date for swearing in. I think it was more because of the fact that I had been waiting to get in for over 2 years.
