Record player - DJ's still use them in bars!  Check out the booth at Sweetwaters in Fredericton, they have one and when I was there we'd get weekly vinyl deliveries!!

OMG... is Sweetwaters (a.k.a. The Cougar Bar) still there? I was going to put that place on this list but I guess can't now.

Real bakeries - steadily being replaced by "healthier" multi-grain/organic/stone-ground flour/flax-seed loaves at the supermarket.
Fountain pens - I get strange looks when I use one.

You should tell the young 'uns who wear em on their berets to STOP wearing em too AND

But NOT in the terms of human INTERACTION (IE: face to face) with each other it seems.  People are much more apt to show their boobies to a complete stranger on the interwebs than to smile and say hi to a fellow human walking down the street!!  It's ridiculous!!

You can buy cordless phones that work when the power goes out...I had some in my hands at the Trinity Ave Costco in Moncton.  I am not sure how long the battery backup lasts for.

It's because of the internet just seems 'safer' to most people. I.e., you can flash somone over your webcam but its a pretty safe bet he/she won't go for a squeeze (unless he's/she's a real creeper, tracks your IP address etc etc).

Why do you think there are so many people who log onto chat boards (like this one) and post inane, assine junk...send threatening PM's to people and then disappear? I'm not sure of the exact stats, but I know that 'online threatening' and whatnot are not commonly, if ever, pursued crimes. Heck, even with crimes like hate speech and kiddie porn the police only scratch the curface of 0.01% of what's out there on the 'web.

It's a wild west and thats why people are more comfortable doing things over it then they would in real life.

I think cords and wires in general may soon be buried.  I bought a cordless mouse and keyboard package for home and it's amazing, and it only cost $20.00.  I can stow away the mouse and keys pretty much anywhere.

What make is it? I've seen a Microsoft one which also has a webcam for $49.00. Do they use alot of batteries up though?

It is Logitech.  Good company.  I use all kinds of their stuff.  They make all kinds of add-ons for PCs and iPods, home entertainment.. bought it at my college store for between 20-30 dollars.  They have fancier, more expensive versions as well.

The keys and mouse use two AAAs and two AAs.  It has a powersave mode that sets it on sleep whenever it hasn't been touched, or whenever the computer is off. The thing was very easy to set up, it literally took minutes.  I bought it a month a ago and the batteries are still going fine, you may want rechargeables for that sort of thing.
