    Customer Service Rant

I believe that it may even be legislated, however it is up to the individual stores as to whether they want to be a part of it or not.  The retail clothing store that I work at is not a part of it.  So if the price is wrong, they don't get anything extra. Where I work, if the customer thinks...

Afghanistan: Why we should be there (or not), how to conduct the mission (or not) & when to leave

pinko, I read that link that you posted.  I found this part interesting: "If this is the test," he said, "the clauses should sunset because they have not proven absolutely necessary to public safety. The government, in essence, has not proven its case and on these questions where our liberties...

Moss Park BMQ, Starting Nov. 21, 2008, until completion

That may be the case, but since it's on the kit list in the joining instructions, I'm going to bring it any way.  Better safe than sorry.

    Is Remembrance Day dead?

Sitting in the library right now (trying to work on a term paper) at UofT, Scarborough campus.  So far, I am the only one wearing a poppy on campus.  Although I did catch a glimpse of someone in their DEUs (I didn't get a good look at the writing on the jacket, but they were wearing what looked...

Moss Park BMQ, Starting Nov. 21, 2008, until completion

I'm with the 48th Highlanders so, like you, I am very familiar with the building as well.  The good thing about the 48th is that they encourage us new guys to participate in the training nights, even though we don't even have BMQ.  Also, we have about 16 new guys who will all be on this BMQ. ...

    waiting for BMQ (reserves)

B0nes, where did you hear that?  I thought we were told 30-50 recruits.

    waiting for BMQ (reserves)

There are parking spots around the back.  I would assume that those who are on BMQ, and drive, would be allowed to park there.  All you would probably have to do is give them your license plate number.

    waiting for BMQ (reserves)

So you won't be with us at Moss Park on Nov. 21?  That's too bad because our BMQ is going to be great! ;)

The Wearing and Location of The Poppy- Uniform/Civilian

I figured it probably would not be allowed while in uniform, I just wanted to make sure.  This will be my first year wearing it with the Canadian flag in the centre.  I always seem to go through 2 or 3 per year, so hopefully it stays on this way.

The Wearing and Location of The Poppy- Uniform/Civilian

thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately, the link in the one post does not work.  What are your thoughts on wearing the Canadian flag in the centre of the poppy while in civilian attire?  Does it take away form the symbolism of the poppy? Edit: added the last 2 sentences.

The Wearing and Location of The Poppy- Uniform/Civilian

What is the regulation for wearing a poppy while in combats?  I know that it states above that it has to go on the left lapel, but today I was at CFRC Toronto (asking questions about the reg. force) and I noticed that most of the recruiters had the poppy around their left breast (including a...

CEOTP and Int Officer - Reserve

I looked into 2 INT out of Dennison Armouries back in February as well.  I was told the same thing, that they do not recruit from "off of the street". I'm glad that's the case because so far, I'm having fun right where I am.

    Canadian Flag for Shoulder

I just checked all of the pockets on my shirts as well as my combat jacket and I couldn't find any. Hopefully I can do that before my next parade night this Friday.

    Canadian Flag for Shoulder

Thank you for all of the quick responses.   For whatever resason, I never received any of the flags when I picked up my kit back on Sept. 2nd.  One of the other new guys in my unit said that he found a bunch of them in the inside pocket on the tac vest.  Unfortunately, none showed up there...
