Apply to any trade as DEO, if you have the CFAT and Interview scores for the trade, they will provide the required training. Only certain trades actually require a specific scope of practice (like Medical Officer), most of them don't, like MCG stated, you just need the degree.

I was also pulled aside after my CFAT, scores where high enough to "qualify" for all occupations of the CF, although he didn't list any specific trades that would better suite me, he mentioned I was eligible for RMC. I opted to go as NCM since I'm more of a hands on guy and the trades of choice...

To answer the security check part, it depends. If you don't have any "red flags" that pop up and nothing in your past that would raise any issues, it "Should" only take about 4 weeks (including the postage). I on the other hand had a little flag pop up and my file went to CSIS for security check...

Not necessarily, once the hand is closed, it does develop grip strength to an extent, but mostly just endurance. In order to develop the "squeeze" strength, I would recommend trying out the grip exercise tools (those little things you squeeze) to see where you are standing in terms of grip...

You're right, they use the beep test to establish your VO2 max.

You don't really get to decide your "nickname", trust me, if you get a nickname and/or callsign, it's because you did something stupid at one point. Although i like the Pinky one already, might want to keep that to yourself if you get in cause it might stick with you all the way.

Don't base yourself on the online information concerning your file, if you want an update, call the national recruiting office or your local recruiting office. The online information isn't really kept up to date, I'm on BMQ January 9th 2012, and it still says i haven't submitted my documents...

Once you do your CFAT your scores remain in your file indefinitely, unless you chose to retest. Your interview, physical and medical on the other hand have a 1 year shelf life. I asked the question to the recruiter and this is what i got as an answer. Also, you might want to go reg force if...

Just got my call today, getting sworn in around the 16th of December, leaving on the 7th training starts on the 9th.
