Is that while on a tour of duty, and training? Or all the time?

I remember watching basic up were at one point a recruit was told to remove all jewelry, and in this instance it was a necklace. I was curious if this is the policy all the time? I ask because I wear a rosary necklace, that I also pray with, and was wondering what the policy was concerning it.

I am a bit confused as to why this is suggested. I am getting a ton of mixed information pertaining to the med-tech career field and it is getting rather hard to sort through the varied opinions.

you're probably right. I tend to view multiple threads and can mix up things. Either way, it has been mentioned numerous times, in the context of comparing civie paramedics with military med-techs, that they are so different and can not be compaired. Yet, no one seems to have elaborated on this...

fair enough. Something to chew on. Are the majority of medics in the forces unfit? I always thought of them to be in similar shape as people in combat arms? Maybe thats my romanticized vision kicking in again. In reality though, there is nothing barring a med-tech from applying to be a SAR...

blackadder1916 -  I understand your point but it does not help to answer the question, of why there is not as many med-techs applying. Are they restricted from applying due to their 6 year contract?

The PDF file for this trade on the forces website says you go to military occupational training after BMQ, but then on another site it says that you go this after SQ. So, do medics receive SQ training?
