I do something similar to the second rep scheme you mentioned, except on the third set I'll usually go to failure
i.e. 60lbs x 8 60lbs x 10 60lbs x max(usually 15-20 reps)
I mostly just use this for DB rows, which technically makes it a "kroc row".You could definately use it for...
Yeah "ghetto workout" would just be what to search on youtube, it's basically just a bunch of guys working out on odd objects like bus shelters and fences.Another guy you might have heard of is Al Kavadlo ? I've read a couple of his articles, he seems like a pretty knowlegable guy aswell.Thanks...
Thanks for the tip on quotes. Have you ever watched any of the "ghetto workout" vids on youtube, you could probably get some good ideas there too.Might look into that Convict conditioning book, is it an e-book or hardcover ?
First off I don't know how to break up quotes like you did so this may not seem very organized...
I didn't mean to bash gymnastics/BW training. In fact I use various gymnastics moves in my warmup(forward rolls, candlesticks, other stuff where I'm moving my body through space) all I meant by saying...
But why not then just practice/train specifically for those things you listed(i.e. actually go carry a heavy pack, actually go climb a rope etc.)regarding agility/felxibility: 1. the best way anyone can develop some agility is to go play sports that require foot speed...
Never said they weren't useful. But spending time and effort just to be able to say "I did it" is not very useful at all. You'd be better off putting your time towards HSPU's against the wall and lots of Overhead pressing/O-lifting.If you had some free time one day and want to try it then go...
Sorry if I came off as a "know-it-all", that was definately not my intent. However, looking at two programs(AFM and MA) from purely a fitness POV,In my opinion(which I know you don't care for much,it's still just my opinion) something that is
1. periodized(i.e. cycles focused on specific goals...
@CDNAviator
That's all very nice, but it doesn't change what I said in regards to the AFM among other things. If you would actually like to discuss the benefits of the AFM vs another training proram i'm all ears, seeing as something I DO have experience in is fitness/training/whatever you wan to...
I'm guessing you didn't click on the link I provided for "actual experience" ???
I never implied I had any experience in combat or anything of that sort if that's whats got you so rattled. The guy who wrote in on the main page of the website(link) does, maybe you should ask him ?
Until you get your hands on a hard copy .....
fliiby.com/file/825059/eghtzchhqe.html
sorry for not posting the actual link but I'm not exactly technology oriented
As an aside, after you've tried out the AFM, try looking into www.militaryathlete.com
No offence to the folks who wrote the AFM...
Yes, it is possible. There are a few other videos that came up after that one finished that showed real people(i.e. not actors) doing the same move. I wouldn't waste your time trying to mimick him though, unless you want to show off to friends at parties :P
would that include comparing how many courses one applicant has vs another (i.e. if one was fininshed trade training and the other wasn't ?)
or are they just looking at all the factors from the normal application process(CFAT,medical.interview, references) ? Sorry to invade your thread M2A...
Damn, Denison's a little to far from my house to be going there on the regular.I'll have to hope either the QOR or The 48th take me so I can still have acess to training facilities that aren't too far from where I live. Thanks :cdn:
Oh yeah I remember hearing about some crossfit certs out of Moss Park a few years ago.Do you remember what kind of gear you guys had ? Bumper plates? Squat stands ? Kettlebells ? Or am I just getting too hopeful now lol. Thanks
edited for spelling
