    CANFORGEN 97/08 LDA FAQs

According to the briefings received, any past field deployments with an operational land unit will count for points towards LDA. This also includes any other accumulative time such as the receipt of sea duty allowance. The example that was given was that Sailor A did 4 years on ship and...

    CANFORGEN 97/08 LDA FAQs

That is the same info we received from the clerks. The units must have 80% of their paperwork completed before the pay people will dole out the cash to that unit. The paperwork is essential and from what I was told by our chief clerk, the paperwork is being changed almost daily by Ottawa. Some...

All things LASIK surgery (aircrew/other -- merged)

We all have seen what going for the lowest bidder has cost the CF over the years. 4000 is alot of money but it was worth it to me. Heck, the LDA, whenever it gets here will be paying for it and it is income tax deductable. I should see about 1000 back.

    Arty Question

Nope, I don't use them, just fix them, competently. I'm not the AVCON SME and never claimed that either. I couldn't recite a bearing or elevation as I have never been at that job, and I don't think I ever claimed that I had. I do think that I am rather skilled at fixing them and take some pride...

    Arty Question

Just checked your profile, apparently you are a toon. I will attempt to educate you. There are only 3 AVCON guns used by the CF and they are C2s modified for firing from preset positions in the Rogers Pass. These guns are "owned" by 1 RCHA. I know the AVCON guns on an intimate level almost as...

"Too many stressed soldiers slip through cracks: report "

I was wondering if there have been any studies conducted on the effects to a soldiers family by directly being injured with PTSD from their stress of having their partner deployed to a SDA. Hypothetically, a spouse or child could get PTSD on "behalf" of their spouse, even though the member has...

Troops Serving in Afghanistan, Past and Present during the Holiday Season

I was over during the holidays and it kinda sucked. For us Christmas is mostly for the kids, and I know they missed their daddy. They are good kids and understood that I had a job to do. We are not a religious family so the whole churchy thing is not our thing.

Disability Awards: I have a question about mine (merged)

Not alot of daily pain, but mild to moderate discomfort. The main issue is the loss of strength. down from pressing 40lbs overhead with my left arm 10-12 times a set to about 5 lbs 5 times. A real pain. Working overhead or holding something extended from the body can be a pain too. Hell, holding...

Disability Awards: I have a question about mine (merged)

I received a 2,150 dollar disability award for a small tear I received in my left shoulder while deployed. Vehicle accident...Bison versus Haji in small Toyota, who apparently thought he could push me off the road...Sadly he was alot more frigged up than I was.... A slap in the face, it seemed...

New life for the M109 ???

We had the two senior call signs on the gun park floor as of a month ago. They have now gone to stay nice and warm in the old German tank hangers in Shilo. One CS is already "on blocks" in the RCA Museum. I think i saw a condition tag I signed hanging on the M15 quadrant....

    Performance Oriented Electronic Training (POET)

Duh. I took it, and the reply was to the other fella who stated that techs who took POET hadn't used it much since they completed the course. Thank-you Mr non POET taking Rad Op, but you are also incorrect. To my knowledge EGS does not take POET. (EO used to be FCS takes POET) I took Poet back...

Boulet Cdn Desert Boots - Rpts and Rtns? What do you think of this product?

I like them. Never had an issue. For me they are much better than the old ones. The old ones where not friendly to orthotics or wide feet.
