Advice for women on BMQ and other courses [MERGED]

:christmas happy: First off, my congratulations to all who have passed BM(O)Q this year.  IIRC, my basic in Cornwallis was no cake walk!  :warstory: :snowman: Secondly, IF you think it's going to be tough, it probably will be.  You are only as young as you feel or want to be!  Years ago, there...

Prince William spends night on streets of London...

I must say that he is HIS Mother's son!  :salute:  RIP Diana, your legacy lives on.  I also believe it is something his grandmother would have done in her younger days, she certainly did her part when it was time.  :salute: He will make a great king when it is his time.  Too bad we can't vote...

SWE Officer: Women Should be Allowed to Give Massages in AFG Base

I can see this one going off into left field for some reason. I wonder why they have to hire local "tradesmen" for massuers?  Not sure I'd enjoy some jihadist pounding that grud out of my back while spouting "death to infidels" ?  You might get more of a deeper tissue massage than you expected...

SWE Officer: Women Should be Allowed to Give Massages in AFG Base

Rats, I just read the news article that stated female Afghan massueses not female Swedish massueses. My first thought was "how much do they have to pay for that?". Must be nice to get out of public funds. My second thought was "men massueses?? "  :-[  {tongue in cheek} third thought was :pop: ...

Whine about Vern Thread - so that we can keep actual threads ... well, actual.

If we blamed everything on Vern, she'd never be quiet about all of it and she'd quote CFAOs and QR&O foreverrrrrrrrr! Besides, I like reading her comments when she "beotch-slaps" ,in words, some asshat who seriously needs it !! I'd hate to be on Vern's bad side and in front of her....I would be...

    "Trucker" Epaulettes

Actually, I think it's a good idea that separates "us" form "them".  A nice thing to have on your shirt at the Roadeo.  Next thing you know, the Navy will be wearing thier ball caps or other headdress with the ships name on it...I'm getting tired of wearing LOG and boneheads thinking I'm a clerk...

NO, Vern, one of our Truckers has TRANS for TRANSPORT when he was in Valcatraz...I even questioned him on it and he said that's what the Truckers wear there....    ^-^  Completely confused the heck outta me too!...Cuz I thought it stood for TRANSMISSIONS in french for the C& E crowd, which I was...

    SCHOOL -- 1967 vs. 2010

Sad and true.  It's a wonder that us "old schoolers" made it thru the younger years.  I once said on my facebook, that society has taken a drastic change for the worse since we stopped hearing the words "sir and ma'am" from the mouths of our youths.  To this day, I still open doors for ladies...

I'm restoring an old 403 Sqn Vehicle. I have some questions....

TN, FMS won't have anything going that far back.  armybuck041, have you tried contacting 403 itself and their historical officer? There is also a Jeep historical society in Toronto (their name escapes me) but I did see them at Warriors Day all decked out and rolling...some complete with .50s...

    "Trucker" Epaulettes

TN2IC, There is no "Trucker" slip on per se as I've seen around.  Only "LOG" or "SVC BN". Not sure if 33 would go for it either.  Here in wonderful downtown Air Force, we have to wear "CANADA" in blue and the Land guys can wear LOG. For some reason, I've seen some of the francophones running...

Pastimes and hobbies that hook you :)

Vets, I've many hobbies per se over the years.  The ones that seem to keep going are Scouting; Piping; and a bit of genealogy when it suits me. I started Scouting when my youngest joined Beavers many years ago, after 14 years, I'm now the Troop Scouter. Just picked up piping in the spring...
