    Question of the Hour

The siege lasted from September 8, 1941, until it was lifted on January 18, 1944...casualties 300,000 military, 16,470 civilians from bombings and estimated 1 million civilians from starvation. I got these figures from Wikipedia. I believe the General/Field Marshall was Erich von Manstein?

Idiotic responses to the idiot who shot 2 Mounties

I agree with Ghost. It seems to me lately that criminals go ahead vandalizing property, robbing innocent hard-working people and when they get injured by police who are trying to protect the law-abiding citizens, they cry blue bloody murder and try to sue the government on some trumped-up civil...

Mail and care packages sent to BMQ / BMOQ

Dee the card sounds great. Letters are the best. I didn't get any letters for a few weeks soI called all my family and friends and whined about how unloved I felt every time someone else got a letter! OMG I suddenly got a lot of mail and it was great! Depending on his instructors you can send...

    Changes to IAP and BMQ?

I finished the 11 week bmq in Borden in March. My understanding is that there are some courses running in the summer for reservists that are still 8 weeks. The additional 3 weeks on my January-March course was spent mostly in the field. That's all I know about it.

    Respect and Etiquette

There is a class called "Dress and Deportment." Some people must of slept through the 'deportment' portion. IMO the problem is that if some troop wants to go out and act like a hooligan or be a slob there is little that can or will be done about it and he/she knows it. Laws nowadays prevent...

    How to quit

Maybe there should be a question on the application that says: how many things in your life have you quit before you fulfilled your obligation? Include promises made to friends and family that you didn't follow through on; jobs; sports or other activities and anything else you quit. Explain in...

Kincanucks thanks very much for your frank and quit-witted replies to any and all recruiting related questions on here. I definately relied on your advice and got a good many laughs from your responses to the folks who didn't do their homework. Good luck in your next incarnation! Say hi from me...

New Trade Video's on CF Recruiting Website

I just tried watching the naval communicator one twice and both times the sound cuts out half way through the video. Maybe it's just my connection. The video keeps going, just the sound cuts out. Anyone else have this problem?

    Navy whites

I got my whites issued at bmq, skirt and pants and a belt - even though the women's pants don't require a belt - maybe the skirt does, I've never checked. I almost had to wear them last week at divisions but it turned out we had to go somewhere else that day so we weren't required at divisions.

    Common law not so supportive

That's good to hear, believe me you will have enough to deal with at basic! Good luck in your training.

    How's the tour going

Booked keep on holding up, sounds like you're doing a great job. Don't let the kids send you all the way around the bend! Take some time for yourself when you can and stay strong as I'm sure your husband appreciates all you are doing. I can't imagine what you are going through, but it sure...

    Kids wearing camo

I guess I'm getting used to seeing people wearing camo now that it's so popular. I wear cadpat at work so I'm not interested in wearing camo when I'm not at work. I have seen some cute capris and even a pair of camo flip flops that I liked though. I wouldn't want to see a trend where kids are...
