    Pilot Perseverance

This is great advice. In addition, when using the sim, make sure you're using the yoke to actually fly the sim and not just using the auto pilot controls. When I was practicing for my multi-IFR, the instructor would always suggest using the auto pilot because the sim was way more sensitive than...

You're only as strong as your weaknesses

During my BMOQ this past summer, we would run between 2 and 4 km in our morning PT with our staff. There were a couple times we ran just under 5 km and one 8 km run with the PSP staff. I think the amount of running will vary depending on your staff. One of the other platoons would run almost...

Where to donate books? Or does anybody want these?

I think there are three main reasons: Libraries want to appeal to their patrons and shed the image of being there only for seniors and kids. They are continually discarding books that have any kind of damages or seem to worn. A lot of times the donated books are in worse condition than what...

Where to donate books? Or does anybody want these?

Most public libraries (at least in larger towns/cities) do not accept donations. Well, they might smile and accept them, but they get tossed after you leave. Try an institutional library like a nursing home, school, MFRC, or a used bookstore as Dimsum suggested.

    ASC next week

If you're referring to to Aircrew Selection, the acronym is not ACS. http://www.rcaf-arc.forces.gc.ca/8w-8e/page-eng.asp?id=546 I originally referred to it as ACS as well thinking it stood for Air Crew Selection, but I was corrected that it was ASC. Good Luck!

    Aircrew Medical-Anthropometry Measurements

So I went to med records and reviewed my anthro results and I was shocked to see that I was green on all three streams training aircraft (Hawk, King Air, and Bell 206), since the Medical Examiner said I fit into only 2 of 3 when I performed the test. The only fail I had was on the Primary...

Phase 2 in Moose Jaw. Do any OJT's have questions?

I heard there was a maximum time limit between PHI and PHII(G) that could make a candidate ineligible for PHII(G), is this still correct? For example, I am third year university and I am scheduled for PFT this summer, so it would be at least 9 months before I would be able to attend BFT. Would I...

    Aircrew Medical-Anthropometry Measurements

Realize that they don't pull out a tape measure like you're getting measured for a suit. You stand/sit in three different positions in your underwear with a nylon sock on your head while a camera attached to a computer takes photos and analyzes the measurements. The interview, CFAT, application...

    University Application

You need to apply for the universities as early as possible, but you do not need the university acceptance prior to submitting your ROTP application. You do however need to prove your acceptance at the university after you have received your offer from ROTP. The timelines overlap, so they...

    ROTP Qualifications

I went into a Recruiting centre and was advised to finish my degree and apply DEO for the trade I was interested in (I had a couple years left on the degree). When I went back to apply, the degree I was pursuing wasn't eligible for the trade anymore and they weren't accepting DEO applications...
