Hi everyone:
Has the wooly pully been adopted by the Canadian military? If not, do the contemporary regs permit a soldier to buy one?
Thanks!
xavier

The wooly pully type sweaters are long gone, replaced by a much better polypro and fleece system. They were never intended for field use in the Cf but as an order of CF dress that has also thankfully been replaced or done away with.

They are issued as part of DEU (I can't remember which order of dress, but the polarfleece stuff you're issued is much better for field use.

Thanks very much for your answers. I imagine that the polar fleece is much more comfortable and popular. A follow up question: do Canadian soldier wear the so called Norwegian shirt?
One last question:does the forum have a FAQ on the common acronyms used? Since I'm a new guy, I'm lost with the plethora of abbreviations and I'm often stratching my head at various threads.  ;D ;)
Thanks again!

I found this in another thread a while back, I use it if I am stumped.

I have no idea what a "Norwegian shirt" is, so I can't really help you there.  The IECS fleeces are a great deal better than their predecessors indeed.  Acronyms are a part of the Army, but if you ever need a translation don't be afraid to ask.

The norge shirt is not as common as it used to be ,the issued stuff is far better.

Hi all:
Thanks very, very much for your help and answers  ;D :salute:
