Supply Official Testifies She Moonlighted at Escort Service

By Paul Duggan
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, April 11, 2008; B03

A Navy officer testified in federal court in Washington yesterday that she moonlighted as a call girl for Deborah Jeane Palfrey's escort service for six months, starting in 2005, when the military says she was assigned to the Naval Academy as a supply officer.

Lt. Cmdr. Rebecca C. Dickinson, 38, who was placed on leave by the Navy "pending further administrative action," told a jury in U.S. District Court that she used the name "Renee" while having sex for money with male clients of Palfrey's now-defunct firm, Pamela Martin & Associates.

Dickinson, who enlisted in the Navy in 1986 and was commissioned an officer in 1993 after graduating from Auburn University, was the 13th admitted former call girl to testify since Tuesday in the government's case against Palfrey. Three former clients of the escort service also have testified.

Palfrey is charged with racketeering, money laundering and using the mail for illegal purposes.

The officer, like the other women, testified that Palfrey sent her to an initial encounter with a client to see how she would perform. She said she met the client at his Howard County home and, after some small talk, "we began to have sexual relations."

She did not say why she chose to work for Palfrey's firm or how many clients she had encounters with before quitting in April 2006.

"It was getting harder for me to do," Dickinson testified. "I had other responsibilities. I didn't like it." She added, "I quit for many reasons. . . . Partly because of other commitments....."

Here's another link of that Lcdr. Rebecca Dickinson's case, which includes a video link that shows her.

;D

Well, the link does show Lt. Cmdr. Dickinson.  Covered up.  Besides, it shouldn't matter what she looks like anyway.  What she did, as an officer of the U.S. Navy, was wrong.
I get such a kick out of these trials for "escort" services.  Like no one really thinks they're not having sex.  ::)
According to Dickinson, she only got $130.00 for 90 minutes of sex (total over the six months she worked there).  Was it worth it?  I doubt it.
In another article, it said one of the escorts has a Ph.D (and is 63 years old  :o) and another, an MBA.  Has to make you wonder.

$90/Hr tax free is a pretty damn good paycheck, I would say........ >:D

Sounds like her military career is done but thankfully she has a fallback position. :)

Yeah, I'd agree ...

Being Supply, she could go to work in the warehouse everday sitting on a fortune ...

Or quit sitting on her fortune.  ;)

Hmmm....bit of a double standard here....girls giving....bad, guys getting.....good....

Guys, it's just a partime job....no biggie....would she be repremanded for flipping burgers?

Well, in all fairness -- she is porting a uniform and that would come with an expectation of better things.

That all being said ... one wonders if her 'lil black book of customers carries the names of any military tourists; and, if so are they also under suspension?

But, heck ... at a mere 90 bucks/hour -- she falls far outside the realm of earnings begotten by "high-class callgirls" "upscale escorts" these days.

It's illegal. Would she be reprimanded if she were selling drugs?  :P

I think his point is are male miltary tourists who avail themselves of prostitutes in foreign ports etc remprimanded in a like manner (rather than being regaled and "hailed" via stories that shall live forever in infamy in the Mess)? It is, after all, just as illegal.

Oh, I thought his point was that it is "just a part-time job" and she shouldn't have been reprimanded. I agree that the johns should be reprimanded as well. Jail time wouldn't be unreasonable either, in my opinion.

Devil's Advocate question:

Marijuana is legal in Amsterdam.  Does that mean CF members should be allowed to smoke it when they are there?

There's specific rules against drugs. I'm not aware of any against using a legal 'sex therapist'.

I know, I guess I was trying to make the point that just because something is legal in a country, doesn't mean that it should necessarily be allowed.  If they get an STD, I wonder if they could be charged for a self-inflicted wound.  ;)

She's a serving naval officer. Ethically, what she did was totally wrong, especially considering she is assigned to the Naval Academy. This is a person who is supposed to be living up to the values implicit in the oath she swore to.

cheers, Mark

Technically, it's not legal.

'Cannabis remains a controlled substance in the Netherlands and both possession and production for personal use are still misdemeanors, punishable by fine. Coffee shops are also technically illegal according to the statutes but, as has been said, are flourishing nonetheless.

However, a policy of non-enforcement has led to a situation where reliance upon non-enforcement has become common, and because of this the courts have ruled against the government when individual cases were prosecuted.'

So it'd be OK for me to sell myself in a room with a redlight along the canal in Amsterdam when I'm on leave? After all, it's legal there.

The point is ... "unethical" for her to sell herself while she is serving (not to mention illegal); yet stories abound about the gents in uniform availing themsleves of this service while "touring". I guess my point was:

If it's unethical for her to sell it -- doesn't the same follow that it'd be unethical for someone in unifrom to buy it as well?

Kind of like my stripper friend who found herself facing a little mil justice for stripping while serving. Mind you ... most of the guys sitting in perverts row wore uniforms during the day and we certainly didn't witness them being charged. And, stripping IS legal. That's a double standard.
