It's hard to disagree with the overall premise; capitalism unrestrained by any kind of conscience is massively harmful to all but a few and gives you plenty of 'let them eat cake' moments.

I'm not optimistic to think this will lead to any substantive changes in how US insurance companies treat their clients (and honour their contracts) and will more likely just lead to increased security, as that's ultimately cheaper.

Well the old saying of: God made man, Sam Colt made them equal.
The more modern version is a 3D printer can make one equal.

I’m guessing it will likely spur some copycats - at least by folks who are either one foot in the grave or have families/friends seriously affected by lack of health care due to insurance costs.
