The horrors of Falklands visit me daily: Goose Green hero pens £10m movie
A NEW £10million movie about the Battle of Goose Green is being made and
its writer has the ideal qualification – he had a starring role in the
original.
Former Para Nigel Ely led his company’s charge in the bloody Falklands War
campaign which was won against all odds.
The 56-year-old, whose movie will mark next year’s 35th anniversary of the
war, said: “As I wrote, I was right back there, hearing the sounds, sensing
the smells, seeing the guys either side of me.
“It was quite easy for me to write the dialogue and scenes. I see them
visually in my mind all the time.
“They come and visit me all the time, mostly every day. They don’t go away.”
