OK maybe this has been asked and answered, I apoligize if it has.

Here is the question:

What scores on aptitude does one need for certain applications? ie: what does a navcomm require? I'm asking mostly for navy but I wonder of all the people who desire to be in one MOD what should they aim for in the appitude for their particular MOD?

I have no idea how I scored, all I know is that I passed for my 1st choice, NavComm with 100% in the verbal portion. I've been told that overall navcomm apps must score fairly high in all categories. Personally I found the test simple, but I see others struggle with it.

Are there yardsticks? And if there are, what are they?

If you achieved the CFAT minimum for NAV COMM then you have scored in the 40% percentile and above.  What everyone who writes the CFAT should aim for is the highest possible score that they can get because the higher your score the higher the score you will get for cognitive ability and the higher cognitive ability score that you get the better you chance is for getting selected for the occupation you have chosen.

Were either of you told how well you scored? Cause I have no idea when I took it earlier this month, all they told me was that I qualified for all my three trades (Infantry, Combat Engineer, Vehicle Tech).

I was told during my interview for RMC what percentile I scored in. I was pretty surprised how well I did...

Like I said above, I was only told how I did on one portion of the test -  and that I qualified for all three of my choices. NavComm was my first so that is the training I'm heading for after bmq.

The CFAT is a timed test. Does that just mean that there is a time limit, or is the amount of time you require to finish factored into your score?

Thank you for the link. I did see that page before I asked, however it does not clearly answer my question. It does advise you to budget your time in case you are unable to complete the test, but it doesn't say if there is any advantage to completing it quickly. Should I assume that there is not?

I don't think it matters how quickly you finish the test; all that matters is how many questions you get correct within the allotted time, per section.  However, kincanucks would know better.  And the ultimate question is of course ... 6 x 9!  As everyone knows.

Then the answer is wrong...

Well ... hmmm ... being a Golgafrinchan, I feel possibly complicit in a possible corruption of the Earth experiment and thereby possibly causing the wrong question to be asked.  Or, maybe the question is correct when using base 13 rather than 10 ... or in computer language SIX*NINE = 1 + 5*8 + 1 ... ;)  Have we strayed too far from topic? ;D

No there is no advantage in completing a section faster than the allotted time.   Concentrate on passing the test first.
