I know it is scary. But.... I was thinking may be we can have a "branch" on military music? Where one can exchange information. I have noticed a few pipers floating around. I am sure there are some drummers and other folks too. It just won't be Pipe and Drums. Open to anyone that plays.

Yes I can see it now;

Late afternoon, and everyone is gathered around the rotunda.  A marching band
plays ``For He's a Jolly Good Fellow''.

Musicians playing in the afternoon........
Yikes
Ruin a computer as I toss a bucket of water / cup of coffee in their direction

Oik, how do I explain that to the Tech?.... "it wasn't my fault - they made me do it!"

Sure... the SOP for new boards is if we can identify a "critical mass" of existing threads that would fit under the new board, then it probably makes sense to create it. Got links? :D

George Wallace and I (et. al.) discussed this on a previous thread under the topic of 'Military Art'.  There doesnt seem to be much support for music, art, etc, here.

As long as the other musicians recognize pipes as an instrument (tongue firmly embedded in cheek), I am up for a board on Military Music, Art and Poetry.

I think it makes sense to combine those topics under that heading.  I have noticed a number of threads that would fit into a board of that heading.

Cheers,

That seems more like it. I like that idea.

I'm up for a board on music et al as well.  Perhaps we could think about dividing it up into Pipes and Drums, (with a sub board for competitions/Highland Games), Military Bands (with sub boards for CF, Brits, US and Aussies as well as a smaller sub board for Marching, Dance and Concert Bands - which could include upcoming concerts/tattoo guest performances).

We might also consider a sub board for Highland Dancing as well with a sub board for the country dances performed at those Highland Balls we many have attended at some point in our careers and didn't
to have a clue what to do with the feet/hands or body and ended up looking something like a frog in a blender.

Does anybody have a list of threads that already exist to populate a military arts board?
