Sling recommendation

Could someone recommend a sling to purchase. I am looking for a preferably padded sling that can be used with either a C7A1 and A2 without any necessary adapters and quick to install/takeoff. I've been to a few kit sites but it's hard to tell if the slings needs a adapter or not. The only one I found so far is a Condor cbt bungee sling.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

What style sling are you looking for?  Do you want a 1 point or 2 point sling? This info will help people make recommendations.

I remembered this thread here:

I still like the VCAS, though after playing with it, I've moved to the CTOMS sling, something similar to this http://www.oneshottactical.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=oneshot&Product_Code=BFG-VCAS-M&Category_Code=SL-BFG though it's not padded. I like it due to the 2 pull adjusters.

One shot also has the VTAC sling, which is padded.

The CTOMS looks like it needs an adapter although the VTAC does seem like it doesn't need one. Going to email and find out about the VTAC.

The Blue Force Gear VCAS and Victory will fit on any rifle with collapsible buttstock and and a forward sling swivel, without needing adaptors.

We carry the VTAC however we hardly sell any. People are finding the buckle has been failing.

We also have the VCAS medic sling which has the double adjuster.

Sorry for the late reply, I looked at the sling although it does seem like it needs a side swivel. Would it be easy to slap it on a C7A2 with its original swivel ?

It will work on the C7A2 as is.  You can hook it into the buttstock or the sling loop behind the action.  On the front you can hook it into the sling loop underneath the front sight.

The other option is to use the adaptor PuckChaser posted or this sling mount below which easily fits on the tri rail.

I used a VCAS for sometime with the adapter.  Works fine.

Why do you want a padded rifle sling?

I'm running this system right now. I love it. I honestly can not complain about it.

Two thumbs up for this guy.

If you want a padded sling, which I think is a bit much for a rifle, the BFG machine gun sling is decent:

One of my LMG gunners overseas used a different brand, can't remember which, but it was much more substantial and definitely overkill for a rifle.

Otherwise get the VCAS, ideally with the adapter and the aluminum quick adjuster, not the plastic (acetal) one.

I need something for this puppy. CQB two & three gun and hunting. A one size fits all would be nice. I've always just used a lanyard from my shoulder and let my rifle drop and hang.

I also use the VCAS, (the padded variant).

I have used it for C7, C7A2, C9A2, and C6...no complaints at all.

It does require some creative rigging on occasion, especially for a little extra comfort room on the MGs. But if you're just looking for a quick way to rig up a patrol sling with a C7A2 all you need is to make a quick paracord loop around the front sight and TA-DA!...for the record, no word if doing that negatively influences LCF, but it works.

Cheers!

Paracord works, as long as you do a tight knot and you keep an eye on it.  You can also get a rail mounted sling mount and attach it to the TRIAD, and theres a couple of other options as well.
