Sergeant Michael LEHMAN, passed away after a sudden and valiant fight against Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD) which is a decidedly vicious ailment. Sgt LEHMAN worked with 2 MP Regiment since July 2010, specifically with 33 Military Police Platoon, and has been a member of the Canadian Armed Forces since 1989. He originally joined as a crewman and then VOT to Military Police in 1998. He served on two operational tours as an MP, first as a member of TF Afghanistan in 2006/2007 and then in Haiti in 2010.
He had a tremendous sense of humour, was highly regarded for his mentorship within 33 MP Pl and was a very technically proficient policeman – his latest posting was to the Army MP Gp HQ in the Policing Ops WO position.
Planning of funeral arrangements are currently underway
This is certainly a sombre day and we have lost a fine person and a proud, dedicated member of the Canadian Armed Forces. May he rest in peace.
