I contacted VAC over two years ago to have my brother's date of death corrected at the CVWM but no action yet. I sent them copies of the relevant documents from his records at the National Archives and from his unit (1 C SCOT R). He went ashore 6 June 44 and was killed on the 10th at Putot-en-Bessin, not 9th as his record now shows.
After submitting his records, I received e-mail from VAC Charlottetown assuring me that the correction would be made 'soon'. I have not followed up yet, but wondering if any one on forum has had similar experience, or could suggest another avenue for getting a record corrected.
Cheers,
Ken
