I recently saw a photo of Vice-Admiral (ret) Norman wearing a new topcoat/greatcoat I’ve never seen before. Are there tailors who make them? Please advise.​

It was a prototype. It hasn’t been approved and I doubt there has been any other push to go in this direction.
So we are saddled with the “dirty old man flasher” coat for the foreseeable future.

It’s been at least 15 years since I wore the gabardine. I don’t even know where it is.
