When you sign a contract with the military.... How long is the contract (in other words how long will you be with the military?)

That totally depends on the trade and entry plan- talk to a recruiter.

If you are talking Regular Force, your first contract will be a VIE (Variable Initial Engagement), which are usually around 3-4 years for NCMs, and can be as long as 9 years for Officers, depending on trade and entry plan as Trick indicated.

How is a 16 year old with no CF exp a "Mentor" on this site?
Lessons can be learned from bad examples too.

For example, if you start four new threads in your first hour on the site, people are going to dump on you. Right?  ;)
