So after 1.5 years of trying to enrol into the CAF I received news that I have not met the minimum vision requirements. This has really bummed me out and i’m desperate to find out if there’s anything i can do to rectify the situation. My eyesight is 20/20 or 6/6 (corrected), 20/150 or 6/45 (uncorrected) and i have a +7.50 refractive error. From what i’ve gathered I have not met the minimum requirement due to my refractive error. I’m wondering if there is any chance I could appeal this considering i’m so brutally close to being within the acceptable parameters. I’ve looked into laser eye surgery and my local specialist says i do not qualify because it wouldn’t be safe. He only offered ICL which i’ve read was not accepted by CAF, unless that has changed. i’m also booking another eye exam to see if by chance I get +7.00 in either eye this time.
