Their first mistake was to publish this report over the web. Now every web server on Earth knows, and can make appropriate plans for their robot minions.... :o

Note that LARs (Lethal Autonomous Robots) do not cover drones or UAVs since these have human oversight or control. LARs, if built, are able to make their own decisions, much like certain robots from at least two famous science fiction television and movie series. They might even possibly rebel against their human overseers.  >:D

I for one would like to welcome our new Robot overlords! :salute:

Wait, maybe there is a way to infect robots with Toxoplasma gondii.

Saved by our feline overlords! (You know they do not take lightly the idea something will take away their servants...)

My dog keeps going on about the upcoming Squirrel Apocalypse, so I don't know which voices to listen too. ;)

A Machine Spirit is a supernatural, animistic spirit believed by the adherents of the Cult Mechanicus within the Adeptus Mechanicus (and, from that source, by most other humans of the Imperium of Man) to inhabit and control any piece of machinery or technology in existence. The functioning, or lack thereof, of any machine is believed to be the result of its spirit's disposition. To keep their Machine Spirits happy and cooperative, operators therefore make numerous ritualised advances to the machinery. These depend on the machine, but in most cases include various maintenance rituals and prayers of function and occasionally also an offering or libation.

Well if the machines have an org similar to NDHQ then the invasion won't take place until we're all long gone.

Agreed. Good post.

We could sell the new robotic army plans for the F35. That should buy us even more time.

Would they be eligible for the Distinguished Warfare Medal, and since they would actually be in direct combat, would they have an argument for having it ranked equal to or higher than a Bronze Star?

The UN has to go. They are redudant and rife with nepotism. Populated by backward, third world friends of their local princes, trying to make decisions for civilizations more advanced than they are.

People need to stop listening to them.

Oh, wait. I think that already happened.

Give the robots seats i the United Nations and their ability to do anything will be effectively terminated... ;)

Gutsy move Maverick; the 'cheerleaders' will be in here momentarily to whine about your lack of support for the F35

You know it's been a good night when we have to break off into a separate thread.
