Lawson,
Your LCpl was certainly dead on. It‘s just amazing about this forum, a
rascal errrr.....that is a Raskul, comes out of the woodwork and we all seem
to come alive. The 1812 thing always works, especially when we have a Yank
or two tuning in.
Hey Tom Downs, down in New England, it‘s not so bad. Other countries have
lost wars too. Born of revolution, many United Stationers still tend to
shoot from the hip. Being mighty and being big doesn‘t always make you right
or guarantee you‘re going to win. It would be so great if children in the
U.S. were taught the objective facts about history and not fed a constant
diet of Yankee Doodle Dandy. Incidentally, when are you folks going to come
up with a name for yourselves? Every other country in the western hemisphere
North South America has national names for their populations of American
inhabitants, you guys are still using the generic "American" which any of us
can legitimately use. You will notice further back I used the term, "United
Stationer." Somehow that name doesn‘t seem to do you justice. Just remember
Tom, we really do love you guys and we all originated from the greatest
empire that ever graced planet earth. We realized it, too bad your folks
didn‘t. Can you just imagine what would have grown out of a totally British
North America? I‘d better sign off now, I‘m hearing bagpipes and Col Bogey
in the back of my head.
Pro Patria,
Dave Willard
