Hello

I have signed up for the combat engineers and I already completed the aptitude test and am doing the Medical test on Thursday. I am hoping to go to the summer course and was wondering how long it would be before I can be send/ volunteer to A Peacekeeping Mission since I'm applying for the reserves. Is there a Set time before which you are not eligible?

Pace yourself. You just signed up, you said. Wait until you finish your training. You'll need to finish your QL3 (trade course) before you're even eligible, and that doesn't mean you're automatically going anywhere.

Pass your courses, and do your best with your unit, and then maybe you'll be selected for pre-training. Until then, don't worry about it.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. It takes years sometimes for a reservist to get on a tour.

BTW....the tour aren't peacekeeping anymore    ;)

Regards

Exactly...Afghanistan is a peace ENFORCING mission atm...

BDR Sark from my regiment (5 Fd. RCA) came back for a couple weeks as leave from his tours with the Infantry Battalions and has a few stories to definetely change the attitude towards Canada's mission...It's not peace keeping, it IS war... :salute:

Good for you on signing up though..But don't get too hyped up on tour yet.  Your pretty much non tourable for the next 2 years which will be once your BMQ/SQ/DP1 is finished.

Good luck with the engineers...One of our GNR's just transferred to Reg Force Eme  :threat:
