DRDC-Valcartier works since beginning of the years 2000 in the development of defensive aids suites to improve the protection of the Canadian military platforms. Several prototypes were developed, integrated and successfully tested under simulated conditions. However, the operations and the threats which the Canadian Forces must face are changing unceasingly and require the development of ever more sophisticated protection systems. Defensive aids suites are generally made up of a unit of sensors and countermeasures interrelated by a decision-making system.
