kicked out of RMC

Friend of mine is getting kicked out of royal military college for failing and getting into trouble etc. They're keeping him in holding for a few weeks.
I'm wondering if anyone knows what the procedure is for that situation?
Because they are paid to go to school do they have to pay for the year themselves, do they get put in non-commissioned forces and have to pay back that way?

There is no hard and fast answer for this question. It depends on which year your "friend" is in, whether or not the person in question wants to stay in the Forces, or is even being allowed to stay in the military. Moreover, the process is likely to take months, not just weeks unless they really want him gone. Best bet, ask questions at the College for guidance, otherwise, just wait out for details to be revealed.
