Hello everyone. Currently I am 20 and an e-4 in the united states air force. I was born in Canada so I have dual citizenship. By the time my contract with the American military is over I'll have a 4 year criminal justice degree through the community college of the air force (the air force is the only branch of military in our country that has it's own official college.) It's not a university but it is still a 4 year degree from an official college. I want to go in as a MP officer,  right now I'm an enlisted MP. My main question is does anyone know if the CF will let me use that 4 year degree to become an officer?

Oh and also one more thing. If i decided to enlist, would a 2 year criminal justice degree allow me to become an enlisted canadian forces MP? We do not have a class called police foundations in america, but criminal justice is the main major for us here for anything related to police or law enforcement.

Thank you for all your information! If I set out to complete it I would have a 4 year degree from the community college of the Air Force. Right now I'm halfway to my 2 year degree so I'll try to call some recruiters also to see if my degree would be accecpted for becoming a MP. Enlisted CF MP has caught my attention, they seem to have a way more wide range of oppertunities than my countries MPs. And wow I did not know all MPs graduate as a Corporal. Thank  you for the information again.

Hello I posted a few days ago and received good information. I wanted to know if there's a way I can find out if the CF will take a degree I'm working towards in criminal justice for military police. It's through the community college of the air force. I'm in the American military currently as an mp. Our branch as an accredited college and I'm working towards getting my degree through them since it'll be 100% free for me. I called a recruiter and the recruiter didn't know if they would take it. I don't want to do the actual application yet since I still have 4 years left on my contract with the USAF. Is there a way I can find out if they'll take my future degree? I want to be sure so I don't have to waste time on it if they wont.

Also I'm aware of the requirements for joining the CF I am a citizen of Canada still.

You didn't receive an answer because foreign credentials are assessed on a individual case by case basis. Once you apply you will be given instructions on what information you need to provide to the recruiting staff, so your education can be properly assessed.  As well even with Canadian programs, what is considered acceptable/unacceptable today, may not be the case 4 years in the future.

Hello I have a few questions about military police I would like to find out. I want to do military police for the army and when I apply years from now I should be good during the application process. If I enlist in the army can I only work on a army base as military police?  Or could I also end up at an air force base as military police also? I don't know much because I'm in the American military and our forces are all separated. I'll be willing to go wherever Canada sends me but will I ever get a preference on where I can be stationed base wise?

Canadian Forces Military Police are what we label as a "purple trade" it is a trade that is inclusive of all Elements: Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy, and Royal Canadian Air Force.

What this means is you could be wearing an Army uniform, but posted to working a Guardhouse on a Navy Base, or Air Force to an Army Base. The benefit of our trade in the CAF is that we can be employed equally across the country regardless of element (or as you call it, service).

Alright this is driving me nuts, you obviously found this site, so you can obviously find the plethora of existing threads and topics regarding the MP branch, since you actually agreed to do just that (search for existing threads) when you signed up here.
