Any ED Tech's out there?  The few threads involving ED Tech's are older...thought i'd start a new one.

I'm wondering if ED Tech's head to PRETC in borden after BMQ and how often are QL3's currently running?

I don't think so, according to the PRETC DIN Site, the following MOCs go to PRETC while awaiting trades training:

I'd bet (you know how accurate that is) that PATs for the Engineer branch do their PAT stuff at CFSME in Gagetown, but someone from the Engr world will know the facts.

Granted it has been a few years but during my time as an instructor at CFSME, we ran our own PAT platoon.

Thanks for the info guys.  Not many ED Tech's on here is there?  A little disappointed i wasn't able to get AES OP but oh well, this is the next best thing.

When was the last time you checked on the availability of AES Op direct entry positions?  I am not staff at a CFRC, but I know there *were* some spots still open, and I know of one person who went to WRT @ CFLRS and released.

If you did accept ED Tech already, good on ya and hopefully you like that trade too.  You can always apply for a Occupation Transfer in 4 years if you are QL4 qualified and your trade is open for remusters out.  No guaruntee you will get it, but just something to keep in mind for the future.

I was told there were four or five spots left in both trades when i had my interview and medical in early july.  I'm not sure how many of the positions left were DEP, i only knew the total spots left.  Both positions go through a selection panel so i guess i'm fortunate i was chosen for ED tech at least....especially since i have no related experience or post secondary education.  Who knows what will happen in four years though.  I think i would have to really hate what i'm doing to want to remuster and i just can't see that happening. I guess it's nice to know that option is there though.  However, I'm fairly certain this is the next best thing for me at this time.

Somewhat offtopic, but just incase anyone else is wondering, from my understand, out of PAT, the following trades are now being sent directly to Kingston for PAT Pl. I guess it relieves some of the pressure on the PRETC system.
