Discrepancy between online application and forms submitted to Reserve Unit

Good day,

I have applied online to join the Reserves. I will soon be submitting my paperwork in person at the reserve unit here in Toronto. I am wondering if it will cause any issues if there are slight differences between my online application and the forms I am submitting in person.

For example, I put "Canadian Army" as my preferred environment in my online application. However, in the paperwork I am considering putting "No Preference" instead. Will this cause any issues with my application being processed smoothly? Furthermore, for desired occupation I only put down one choice in my online application, although on the paperwork I am submitting I'm wondering if I should put more than one. Please advise as to whether this will cause problems.

Thanks you

It sounds like you have not followed the laid down procedures towards applying for a position in the Reserves.  You have mentioned in your previous posts that you have a Degree and are applying as a Logistics officer.  Have you visited a Reserve unit and been accepted by them into one of their vacant positions?  If not, you will have to go to a Reserve unit and be accepted by them first before you apply through the CFRC.

I have followed the instructions exactly as they were given to me by the recruiter at the reserve unit as follows

1.        Apply Online at Forces.ca, It has all our trades currently available and information you need about the Canadian Armed Forces Army Reserves.

2.      Fill in the application package

        3.    Collect the required ORIGINAL documentation

        4.    Book an interview and File Submission with me via email(after completing step 1-3)

I will be completing step 4 this week.

The Recruiter should have told you what Trade to select.

It looks like the Recruiter will be going over your documentation with you, so that you will have everything in order for when you go to the CFRC.  It is at the CFRC where you will be doing your CFAT (see topics on CFAT), Medical exam, PT Test, interviews, etc.  The CFRC will be the ones processing all of your documentation and test results, as well as your Security Check results, and once your file has reached the stage that you are a suitable candidate, portions will be sent to the Reserve Unit for your enrollment.  Once you are enrolled, the Reserve unit will manage all your records and pay.

As you say you are going into the Reserve Recruiter for your Step 4, then they would probably be the best ones to clarify some of your questions.

Good day Soldier2112,

Ensure that you read information already posted before asking your question. Below is a copy and paste of the very first post on this form titled "I submitted my appliocation Whats Next?". Furthermore in accordance with the rules for posting questions on this form we do not answer questions reguarding in progress applications. Ensure you read the post titled "Read First" before posting your next question to ensure that your following the established rules for posting questions on this form. Maintain contact with the reserve recruiter that is processing your applicaiton and they will inform you of what you need to do.

After submitting your application:

You should receive an email within 5-7 business days after the submission of your online application, giving you further direction on the next steps to take in the application process.

To ensure that you receive correspondence between yourself and Canadian Armed Forces Recruiting the following is recommended:

•  Adding the email address "@forces.gc.ca" to your Safe Senders list in your email account is recommended, as there have been instances where email communications between Recruiting Detachments and applicants are filtered out and end up in the junk/spam mail folder.
•  Check your junk/spam email folder in case Forces emails continue to be filtered out.
•  Check up on the status of your application every 30 days with the Recruiting Detachment processing your application.
•  Ensure that you are checking the email account that you provided on your application.

If you have applied and have not yet received an email within 10 business days of submitting your online application, or if you would like to know the status of your application, it is recommended that you do the following:

•  Visit the link to our Forces site, ( http://www.forces.ca/en/page/contactus-73 ) and submit a status update request for your application.
•  If you know your application number, include it in the email.
•  If you do not know your application number, ensure you include your first name, last name, date of birth and the postal code of your home address. This will ensure that the recruiter who receives your email can locate your application and provide you with a status update.
