Current number of soldiers

I've known for awhile that Canada has "lacked" the number of soldiers, sailors or pilots for awhile, by this I mean not enough people are joining up. During WW2 Canada had the 3 largest navy in the world and was up there in the largest army. However I've been told by so many people that as of right now noone is joining the army, navy or airforce. So can someone answer me what the current number or people in our army is? What is the CF doing about this problem, and are they being more lenient on the current applicants?
