TORONTO (CP) - If there's one thing that can be said about the ingenious device developed by two Ontario university students, it's that it goes straight to the heart.
Deceptively ordinary in appearance, the black glove is designed to guide others in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, the procedure for victims of cardiac arrest, and improve survival rates.
Outfitted with sensors, circuits and electrodes, the CPR Glove measures the depth and speed of the chest compressions, even the heart rate of the victim to make sure they require resuscitation.
It also has a liquid-crystal display screen, similar to those found on cellphones, which tells the would-be rescuer if they are performing the procedure properly.
The CPR Glove has already generated interest from investors.
Waste of money if you ask me. Hey, I think they also have a sequined glove that assists you to moonwalk! :
