I understand that there are not very many class B's around until maybe April. However just wondering if you can get a class B without being fully qualified?

You need to be a little more specific about what you are wanting to do. How "unqualified" are you? Many Class B positions will require a minimum of a certain rank, others will require certain course qualifications, while still others will employ an individual who has very few course qualifications, even below the rank of Pte(T). It will vary depending on the position in question.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong in this particular forthcoming fact, but, I believe that many Class B employment positions that are not trade/leadership courses require at least completion of IBTS, CF Expres Test, and (depending on your trade) BFT... though I'm not sure if that requirement varies depending on the unit/section employing you...

I don't really have a particular job in mind for Class B, but I just wanted full time employment from the army and I figured something would be available. I will most likely have my SQ, maybe even DP1 but right now all I have is BMQ.

Most units will not send you on tasking until you are at least trades qualified.

Not sure you're going to find much in terms of Cl B employment right now.............

I've got a friend working a MCpl class B position as a Cpl. He lacks QL5, let alone PLQ.

I take it that's the "fully qualified" that you're referring to?

Join the Regular Force if you want a full-time job.  The Primary Reserve is meant to be a part-time commitment while remaining a productive member of the civilian world.

No he's asking if someone can get a class B job who isn't a fully trained soldier.

If you want full time work or ANY sort of job security run away from the reserves.
Even on a class C contract training for a deployment overseas you'll get  "We can fire you at any time son!" hung over your head for about a year.

With the scarcelessness (I just made that word up) of class B contracts in the reserves giving one to an untrained soldier would be very unfair.

Fill the breach, I say. Any training required I'm sure would be sorted.

I highly doubt it.  "Class B" and "Untrained" do not mix.

Especially when you see the request message and the qualifications required are so exact that they almost seem designed for one specific person. Usually, the one that stands to lose the job originally. ;)

OK, i know many people that have Class B jobs and only have BMQ and one case where the person was on Class B and on BMQ at the same time (which i highly disagree with) . it all depends on you location and job requirements. For example, if a unit needs a clerk and there are no clerks avail then anyone can be canvased for the job if the competition is written for ANY MOSID. so i agree that Cl B and Untrained don't mix but that's not the way it works. Also competitions are sometimes written specific for one person b/c the unit wants the same person back, it makes sense when that person good at his or her job and the unit agrees. With all that being said, don't be upset if someone with the Proper MOSID for the job gets it over you or just someone trained in any MOSID for that matter. This is the way the game works. If you want full time employment go RegF. Cl B can look Gucci but take it from me i have been a Cl B Commando for the last 2 yrs and its a lot of headache just waiting for my CT to go through now.
