Ok so here is the situation. I am my 3's for Veh Tech... and well I wanted to go infantry since the start, but thought it was better to get a trade under my belt. But now I can't get the feeling off my chest about joining the infantry, So i have decided I want to change trades. When would be the best time to do so? I am about 2 months away from finishing my 3's so I figured right after that ? Does anyone have any input here? Willl it be hard to transfer over?

thanks

UMMMM I don't think it's that easy to re-muster.  My husband was a infantry reservist for 7 years.  When he went regs he decided to go fcs tech (or something like that).  When he started his course he hated it and decided he should have gone infantry.  So within the first couple of weeks of the course starting he switched (if that's what you could call it).  Anyways it is a HUGE process!  They weren't even gonna let hm off course.  He still isn't home and once he does get home there is still alot of paper work that has to be done!  From what I can understand.
With so much of your course done I can't really see them letting you re-muster (but what the hell do I know).  It's such a waste!  Cause wouldn't they have to train you for infantry?  My husband doesn't have to be trained for infantry since he was infantry before.  I think that is why he actually got off course.  Who knows how it works.  Good Luck!

As you are only about a month and a half (now) from finishing your 3's, I would suggest you finish.  Then apply through the BPSO to change.  Believe it or not, Courses do count, and as you are so close to finishing you might as well.  It will be reflected on you files (MPR).  I am sure that what you gain from this course will be useful to you later in whatever job you land up doing, so don't throw it away.

Yup, definitely finish your course,  qualified veh tech (even a 3's) would be an asset to any Infantry section and, I believe, any sect comd would be happy to have you.

(Unit transport Sgt would love ya)

(Base Mtce is gonna hate ya)

I am not against remusters........being one myself, but i am sure that maintenance platoon would also love to have you.......

That being said, do what you have to do
