Brit Arty joining CAF Infantry

Hi- looking fir advise , I am Ex Brit Artillery (5 Yrs) a few tours and Gongs, currently in the process to Join CAF Infantry reserves, I am also Canadian Lic Vehicle Mechanic, Vehicle fire investigator , X-Ray tech, many Engineering certificate courses with Society Automotive Engineers, from Brit army side I have Basic Trng all courses and trade = basic Arty Gunnery & in Regt Advance gunnery, internal security soldier, Arty Driver, Leadership course ,dud Cambrian Patrol comp, so from all of this any ideas if I my experience will help on advancement in rank or reduce Basic trng entry or anything else , thx Ross

That depends... alot.

Sometimes equivalencies are not possible. You should go to a CFRC with all your documentation and they can tell you what is transferable to your CAF career.

And I hope that, in the UK, you weren't RHA or something like that ...

Thx , recruiters have taken all official Uk Mil docs plus certs diplomas and submitted for a PLAR evaluation , ref what unit/ regt I was with 52 Niagara Bty , 45 Fld Regt RA, worked with CAF in Wainwright back in 86, 88

That depends... alot.

Yep, I've seen Ammo Techs come over from WO2 to MWO and WO2 to MCpl. The SAE quals probably won't be worth much in infantry but the other might, depending on how long ago, and how long ago you got out of the Brits.

No offence, but you sound a little old to be thinking of joining the Infantry.

I was in Wainwright in '87 with 45 CDO RM on a POND JUMP and we had 29 CDO with us. I worked alot with 7 RHA in 5 AB Bde as well. All good eggs...

No offence taken matey, yes old but still doing BFT’s and CFT’s for fun , yes I worked with 2 Para and a little with RM down in Plymouth also south of France FFL, I have 3 months to get into the CAF before I turn 58 ,ref CAF all testing and medical passed just editing on Security chk, I wana get my wings befit I am 60
