BFG SOC-C Contractor Pak by Blue Force Gear. I need some folks two cents. Good/bad/ugly... I got a gift card to blow.. so that is what I have been looking at.

Good, but I give the edge to teh Vickers Sling. The Contractor pack is nice as it allows you to mount the SOC to almost any weapon out there,a combination of the Contractor pack and Vickers would  nice.

I was more leaning towards the Contractor Pak. I have been looking at some pictures of it.

I need it more for VCP 's since that is part of my secondary duty at work. I wonder if I could rig it to a C9? I may be changing for a C9 soon too.

My CSM is RCR...so yeah. Nothing flashy. hehehe...

edit: cause of too many beers.

Those 2 HK hook adapters on the set.... could it work for the C9? I got a brain fart.

yes they will work on the sling, but you may be better of with the purpose built support weapons sling from Blue force.

It's just I am stuck with the C9 for a bit... but I know I will always have a C7 anyways. Thoughts? BTW, the gift card is from CP Gear that I won on this site. Last month photo contest.

I'd recommend getting the Vickers for the C7 and a Support Wpns sling from BFG for the C9.  A little more money, but there are lots of bits in the Contractor Pack that you won't use anyhow.  I suppose you could sell the extra stuff, but hte Vickers ROCKS :mg:

blake

The entire idea for the Contractor pack was so we could mount an AK, M4, M249, M240, 870, etc with the attachments -- damn one guy used it on a RPG...
Its a good setup.

BUT I tend to forget not a lot of people have 8 or so weapons they can take with them...

The VCAS is an excellent 2 pt sling -- but not something I would use for a M249/C9.  It will work though.

With PBA the need for a paddled sling is nil as the armour will spread out the pressure anyway.

That is what I was thinking. Well I got it now. Just havn't had the time to play army yet.

+1 for the BFG vickers sling.

It took me a little while to figure out the best way to attach it to the C7. I ended up wrapping another strap just behind the slip ring (in between the handguards and the upper receiver) then attaching the front of the sling to that. I took the side release buckle and put it on the opposite side, attaching that to the metal sling loop in between the lower receiver and the butt. I slung the weapon over my left shoulder (I shoot right handed) like a a regular issued patrol sling.

Did that make sense? I this thread is still going when I get back to Pet in a week or so I'll post a pic. The Vickers Sling is a sweet piece of kit.

I thought that BFG was making a vickers sling specifically for LMGs. Never seen it, but hey... why not?

The C9/C6/M240 sling does have a Vickers adjustment on it, however the Vickers itself was design for the M4.
