Wired magazine has chosen 10 of the best apocalypsemobiles to have if the world ended tommorow. Some are bizzare, but the other ones are pretty good.

Also taking into consideration

Ease of repair
Ruggedness
Security (Can something get to you from the outside)

Which one would you choose?

I would choose the Jeep, theres plenty to be had, easy to repair and fairly sturdy, the only downside would be it would be easy for something or someone to get to you from the outside. You'd have top built a cage or something around it.

A Stryker of course, or one of those UNIMOG's.

No, wait, VW's Concept T.

Arghh! So many choices!

;D
Baker

VW's Concept T for sure... Though it doesn't look too rugged. I could run over Zombie's in style. lol (Why on earth would they put the unicycle in there? hahaha)

Mine is not on the list. I'm going with George Peppard and his Landmaster!!!  It's proven in post apocalyptic times!!

Stryker/LAV III. I would actually buy one if A) I had the money for it, and the diesel, and B) they were for sale.

I'm going for the unicycle, it's got some attitude.

this part made me laugh

"What's more, with both hands free you'll have no trouble firing your rocket-propelled grenade."

Same here, I was browsing then outa nowhere there's a friggen unicycle! Then I read it and laughed.  I suppose it does have attitude... But honestly, it's not gonna keep the zombies away!!!  ;D

i'd have to choose the V8 interceptor, even as a 18 year old in Australia I wanted one of them and they still look cool

ATF Ding to protect you from all the zombies that will abound during the apocalypse.

BTW, before you all forget, you kill zombies with blunt force trauma to the head, or a shot in the head. Nothing else works.
Pay attention, questions will be asked!! >:D

Hey.....That would be great to drive around town in.  Forget the price of gas.......the look on the asshat's face who cut you off.......... after you drive over him.....Priceless.

AEV has 2 C6s, got that whole head shooting thing covered, and any zombie that can claw through that armour pretty much deserves a decent meal.

Forget gas. It has an Diesel engine and IIRC is multifuel ready. So you could use some salad oil for driving around with it.
It can swim, has NBC protection, armored against 7,62 mm from 30m distance, is designed for 7 day´s of autonomous operation with 3 man onboard, Panzerfaust 3 onboard, from inside controllable turret for 40mm GMG or MG3.

Sadly only one was produced. Shortly before production was launched thx to the dutch the program was scraped and later replaced by the Fennek.

Here are more pix and information about it. (German/I am not aware of any english source about it.)

I have seen one of those before when i was visiting family in Germany
it was at Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung (Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement ) ( Great place to visit if you are ever in Germany link: http://www.bwb.org/01DB022000000001/vwContentByKey/W26ACCK9458INFOEN)
it had a bucket siting under the engine full of oil and was supported on all four corners by jacks since the suspension had snapped

AFAIK the hydraulic suspension (It could be lowered or rised corresponding to the situation.) was fixed last year.

Edit: BTW: The Zobel is now at the WTS (Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung) in Koblenz.
