BBN's (Battery Briefing Notes) are rare in most Artillery units, and wouldn't be called the same thing in non-Artillery units. He will most likely have to talk to his chain of command to find out info for courses.

To the best of my knowledge, yes. BMQ-L (used to be called SQ) is run on weekends, but it may vary depending on your region. If it is being run shortly after your BMQ it is likely that you will be loaded on. However, take what I say with a grain of salt, as it can vary from unit to unit...

I have had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Maxwell speak at my school in Toronto. He is a very well spoken man and the stories he shared were wonderful (albeit in unfortunate circumstances). I wish him well in his future years. Though its a shame the diploma had to be from The York School  >:D

Have you considered the NCM route as well? I think you might be over thinking the Officer aspect a bit to much. Or what about the Reserves? It might be a better way to ease into the military. Visiting a local reserve unit will give you (in my opinion) a very in-depth experience of what goes on...
