Downside / boring tasks exist in every job and it also will depend on how you look at the tasks.  Depends who you are working with, what he job is.  Eventually you get away from those jobs you might not like and move onto other things.

Bump for the new course in June on the east coast.  It's interesting going back to when Red started the thread and read through it again.  Still the same problems with recruiting the guys into the seats for some reason.

I think Pat nailed it down.  I have met boring Bosuns but they are the same as us and have lots of times been bored but many times so busy they wish they were bored. I don't think they have a boring job, they always seem to be busy with something on the go.

I have seen websites / forums out there for NESOPs and AESOPs.  I wonder if there is one out there for the NCIOPs / Radar Plotters?

NCIOPs mostly stay in the ops room doing operations work on a daily basis while at sea.  You won't be doing watch duties as lookout and life bouy sentry.  You will have work on the upper decks for rescue stations and RAS positions up until you make MS. Many hours sitting in front of the radar...
