CIC Subcomponent of Reserve Force is no more

I just had this e-mail forwarded to me, and given that the sender said distribute this to all CIC members, all supp res members, and anyone contemplating going CIC, I thought it was prudent to it post here. References:  A.  National Teleconference - Regional COATS OPIs - Tuesday, 7 July 2009...

CIC Subcomponent of Reserve Force is no more

As I understood, COATS does not replace the CIC, but rather, the CIC now falls within COATS, which will include anything that assists the CCO, such as NCM's, etc... Reading this, am I incorrect?

CT / Enrollment with CIC [Merged]

I realize I'm a bit off topic here, but I would love to see the poll that this information comes from.  The only one I've found is a Jan 2006 Ipsos-Reid poll, and the numbers were far, far less than that...

    Nijmegen Marches - Merged Thread

Funny seeing you here  ;D Anyway, I did some looking around, I'm thinking you can only get those if you have access to DWAN...  but apparently the one you're looking for is CANFORGEN 025/09. You might already know that, but hopefully not, and I can appear useful.

Berets and How to Form Them

I live in an apartment, you left out deposit coins. I suppose I should have specified; I think putting in the washer would be a bad idea, as i have the cloth badge sewn on, with the little plastic albatreagle on there, and i would hate to lose it.  So by hand seems like the preferred method. ...

Boot, General Purpose (Mk III acting/interim replacement)

Ah shit I knew that, too.  Does anyone have experience with the 5.11's that they look cool but suck for anything besides that?  The video certainly made some strong arguments for the boots.

Berets and How to Form Them

Oh wow.  Walked right into that one. Is there a particular method of doing so?  I spoke to the RSM (Reg force) he said just soak it and let it dry with a fabric softener sheet, but that didn't really do the trick.

Boot, General Purpose (Mk III acting/interim replacement)

Don't worry, no offense was taken.. I am well aware that not all CIC officers represent the CF in the way we'd like.  There is talk of that being taken care of, but who knows... As for the march, it was made up of.. 10 I think?  Two officers, one female CI and the rest were cadets.  The first...

Berets and How to Form Them

Perhaps something of a tangent, but any ideas on how to get the smell of old army ass (not unlike hockey glove) out of a beret?  As an Air CIC officer, I don't wear it much, but a summer in CADPAT while working at a CSTC put a lot of sweat in my beret.  The smell is gone now, but I plan to go...

Boot, General Purpose (Mk III acting/interim replacement)

and WRT those asking about my socks, the first time I wore my Mk III's for any length of time was on my MOC, because before that not all of CIC was in CADPAT, I think we were one of the first times an entire course was in CADPAT, at least in Central region.  Anyway, I'm digressing.  Before...

Boot, General Purpose (Mk III acting/interim replacement)

I was just issued a pair of the GP boots, and I had a couple of questions about them.  And I did read through the entire thread (no small feat) so I am fairly confident I won't be asking something that has already been answered. That said, The boots came with two sets of insoles, but they are...

Air CIC Prohibited from wearing CADPAT?

Signalman, I see where youre coming from there, with regards to trying to differentiate between the three elements.  However, its all the Canadian Forces.  keeping the traditions are important, but regarding what is worn to get work done, that should be more an issue of funtionality...

Air CIC Prohibited from wearing CADPAT?

I just finished up my BOQ in Borden.  I'm Air.  We were in work dress, which now consist of dress pants and short sleeved shirt. (though we transitioned into the sweater as well, since it went over the time change).  The poly pants formally worn with work dress are no longer issued.  In the...

Mk III Combat Boots: Use, Maintenance & Other Stuff.

Hey all, this is my first post but I've been lurking for a while, and I thought my question was best suited for this thread, since apparently starting a new one is unpopular. The situation is this, I am but a lowly Air Force CIC officer (*dons flame retardant gear*) and I was just recently...
