It's definitely a fine balance between checking up regularly to ensure your file is being completed and just waiting for things to be processed. You'll know when you're being too eager. For example, when you show up at the RC and the staff say, "You know, you could've just called, right?" or...

It's a busy time for the RCs now, so that they said they would call you when they're ready is good for now. At least you seem to be on their radar. Patience is a virtue throughout the process. Just keep in mind that there are hundreds/thousands of applicants and there are varying priorities for...

Anything is possible! My CO apparently got his call 4 days before he was scheduled to leave for Basic, so it's possible people could still be getting offers even in May. What occupation are you going for?

Being a female minority, your concerns ran through my mind at the beginning as well. However, I decided to just push that little voice aside and go on with the process; I figured my experience, character, and work should be the basis of judgement and future promotions. I can't speak for the Navy...

Lasik IS a fairly common process now, and I have had a few friends go through it successfully. Only one had issues with her retina detaching and her left eye getting worse, etc. (It might have had more to do with her eye health rather than the procedure, though.) Perhaps just do more research...
