Can anyone pull up some long lost pictures or info of bases that were on Vancouver island/ the Gulf islands? I'm pretty sure there were a few bases but the only one I can find things about is Fort Rod Hill.
Fort Rod hill in Victoria, BC is a very good preserved base from the time era. I don't think it was on par with the bases of 30 000 people, or if it's the kind of historic site you meant?
I think there are a few muslims that would have 'words' with them here at home, if they did the burning in front of them.
If they are fought about religion, I would like to think that it is mostly in the middle east. I mean, in North America the recruiters aren't hanging up posters around town...
Doing this would be bringing themselves right down to the same level. I don't really agree with the press actually publishing this and making it more public then it already was/is. I hope these people don't follow through with it and just drop it where it is.
I have a pretty good collection of mind = blown pictures from various image boards. I'll review them after reading that :o
On the 'leaving the parents house' comment, I agree 110%
It's not worth the $550 a month. I talked to my folks about it and they said that even with five of us at home they didn't spend that much a month on food. I'm sure other people with a family can confirm/deny.
The food -is- good though, but after a year of eating at the mess, it gets a little...
Eh,

I know the money and the legal side of it ARE a huge part of it. But it's nice to be 18 and have ignorant...
For the time before basic I took it upon my self to go around and get my blood tested and everything double checked my my Doctor, if you're worried about diabetes then go get the tests done you're self. It can't hurt ;)
I woke up this morning to my phone ringing, as I looked at the caller ID I saw it was the CFRC, took a quick sip of water, picked up the phone and got the offer to which I gladly accepted. 40 more days until I leave, so the "Hurry up and wait" I have written on a piece of paper will have to be...
I applied May 1st, and heard from one of my references that they got a call 3 day after the fact. I waited for a week and a half and thought something may have gone wrong because the recruiter said 1 - 1 1/2 weeks for a call and it had been 2 weeks. I went down to the centre and sure enough...
Oh, and another thing I wanted to add was...
The recruiter told me that the call should be 1-2 weeks, at the end of week two I went into the recruiting office and they pulled up my file and said all of my back check stuff had been done and they weren't sure why they didn't call. So he forwarded...
