first offense: six months, certainly less than 2 years putting her in a provincial facility. 3 years puts her in a federal pen.

The "Did Minister Sajjan 'Order' Sikh's To Be Airlifted?" Merged Thread

he said he didn't order it. This has already been covered earlier. Information from the minister is tantamount to being a very strong suggestion/order. Sajeen is an expert at using half truths to obfuscate issues.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

you keep coming back to MX. Find a place that doesn't involve La Belle Province. It may be the politically favourite location but it isn't the place of choice for most of your working stiffs or their spouses.

but they are what has been delivered therefore they will be used. If you folks hadn't frozen deliveries perhaps the transportation would have featured a different vehicle. As it is, if Ukraine is using valuable resources to establish an assembly line after receiving over a thousand of them...

can gain a couple with a little bit of imagination. We could have HMCS Labrador on top of Newfoundland and, wait for it, HMCS Turks and Caicos.

Trudeau Popularity - or not (various polling, etc.)

I hope and pray that Jagmeet grows a pair and pulls the plug soon. There is no end of damage that a cornered, defeated, bitter animal can bestow upon our poor benighted country in 15 months if he doesn't

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft

too true which is why the only way to bilingualism is through the public school system and that is a multi-year project; otherwise language remains ghettoized.

Trudeau Popularity - or not (various polling, etc.)

All of the potential candidates for party leader will be united in supporting Trudeau. With little to no chance of winning, a replacement leader doesn't want to blow his/her chances at the golden throne by stepping up into a losing cause. There will be no viable candidate for leader just a...

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft

Except that there is only one english school in Saint Jerome which limits your choices for places to live. As for working, nurses for example have 4 years only in which to qualify in french. Most other government trades are the same or even worse which limits your career choices just a little bit.

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft

but only if you are bilingual. Where will you find 60 or more candidates to fly B737s that want to move their families into an area where the kids can't go to school in English and where your spouse can't get a job unless they are fluent in french? the DND doesn't run an on-base school system...

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft

Question: in Afghanistan, how difficult was it to get artillery/air support from one of the other forces when things went sideways but the systems were otherwise tasked? As for airports there are any number of older facilities that have been closed down that could be resurrected as an active...

Is bilingualism a ‘myth’? Poll shows divide between Quebec, other provinces

every child is born with the capability of learning any language. It is only in later years that we lose that ability so starting in kindergarten is a leg up on learning. But I find it interesting that you (and I use that pronoun advisedly as we would also apply) immediately look for problems...

Is bilingualism a ‘myth’? Poll shows divide between Quebec, other provinces

Trudeau senior missed a golden opportunity to contribute something worthwhile to Canada with the bilingual laws in 1969. Consider if the legislation had mandated that starting in 1970 all kindergarten classes would be bi-lingual. Then 1971 would extend to grade one. By 1983 every graduating...

    The War in Ukraine

Aren't a lot of those Russians there because Stalin enforced an infiltration policy that moved ethic Russians into the lands he took over. When folks move into a new country it is expected that they will conform to the new country's rules and practices. It is not expected that the new country...

Justin Trudeau hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

that is where you have to trust the ones who wrote the requirements to be honest in their description of the needs. If one responder ends up being the obvious choice perhaps the only reason is that their product actually meets the requirements better than the other offerings: Occam's razor.

Justin Trudeau hints at boosting Canada’s military spending

With the caveat that this is a personal observation, to me the most glaring error was in not staying within the original requirement statement and then not giving proper credence to the expert's observations during the evaluation phase. The aircraft is too slow, hasn't got sufficient range to...
