What PC Video Game Are You Playing Now?

I got a great many hours out of Imperial Glory too. I wish the diplomacy system was a little more realistic, but other than that I still enjoyed it thoroughly. Lately I've been just getting in as much Starcraft 2 as possible! A really fantastic game, and dare I say even worth the 12 year wait...

WHEN IS the next Naval Officer Assessment Board (NOAB) ?

    A 7 second search of MCC + Canadian Forces gave me: http://www.army.ca/wiki/index.php/Canadian_Military_Acronyms http://www.duncom.ca/Documents/PDF%20files/Acronyms.pdf http://www.heritagecharlotte.com/documents/Military-Abbreviations.pdf...

WHEN IS the next Naval Officer Assessment Board (NOAB) ?

There is no limit to the amount of information you can gather from a simple yet ingenious tool known as the 'search function'.

WHEN IS the next Naval Officer Assessment Board (NOAB) ?

Your MCC likely would have told you how you stack up. In the recruiting process, there really are no surprises, and it's not as clandestine as a lot of applicants seem to think. As you said, you were told you did well on your CFAT and your interview; I'd take that as a positive sign. But...

    The Manly Thread

Philosophical question: If having sex with a woman is manly, ipso facto, wouldn't that make having sex with a man twice as manly? ahahaha. :nana:

    The Manly Thread

I don't know which I find more amusing about this topic. The responses posted or the OP's portrait of 19th century Victorian steel tycoon. This thread just combines my two favourite things: Chauvinism and time travel! And in response, the manliest thing I've done was hauling a bunch of 12...

WHEN IS the next Naval Officer Assessment Board (NOAB) ?

It's another stage to the application process. If you got an offer, you'll get a phone call. It's a process similar to merit listing. If you're an attractive enough candidate, they won't forget about you. If you get it, you get it. If you don't you don't. Just stay busy in the meantime.

    Navy Morale

CombatDoc, Thanks for your reply! In reading over my posts, I was a little unclear in what I was asking. I mentioned equipment procurement as something that must be tiring to continually hear about, but I didn't mean to ask about that specifically. My bad. Your stuff about nautical...

    Navy Morale

This was originally one message but I guess the first bit got posted seperately through a technical error: Anyway. Heeding Ex-Dragoon's advice, I searched up and down for more answers and I couldn't find any for another set of questions. It still falls under this category to an extent so I...

Good to know that sodomy and the lash are still favoured pasttimes! I was hoping they were. ahah.

    Navy Morale

Hey everyone, thanks for the responses! I find it's really great to add that personal touch to a potential life-shaping decision. The Navy website and other sites can only tell you so much before petering out of their usefulness. If I could expand my original question with the inverse, what...

    Navy Morale

Hey everyone, As a naval officer hopeful, I've been having a lot of great fun reading up and down all the navy.ca posts. I've been doing a lot of reading up about all the tech-specs of the Fleet, including the new additions that will arrive in time and all the ins and outs of naval life. I...

    Westboro Church Protest Mega-thread

ahaha. Thanks for sharing! Good to know my fellow nerds are just as clever and creative as anyone who speaks fluent Klingon should be. I really enjoyed the constant references to the Hypno-Toad. Definitely one of the best cameo characters in Futurama!

    Short Take-off of a C-5 (Split from F-35)

I was definitely wondering that too. No doubt that was empty taking off, but how long does it need for that extra 250 or so tons to get airborne? ahah.

    Short Take-off of a C-5 (Split from F-35)

That is actually something else. I guesstimate that was a 200 to 300 metre take-off, and it weighs 175 tons empty weight. Incredible! Thanks for sharing!

    Spiritual Issues

Guess I'm a Mayan then, who knew! Time to brush up on my libations to Kinich Ahau and Kulkucan. Also, would anyone like to join me while I dress up like a wayob and dance with Tonsured Maize God? Great fun will ensue!

    Spiritual Issues

Ravanosh, It seems that you are over-thinking this. While I respect your beliefs in a spiritual universe (One of my majors was religious studies), you have created an error in your career priorities. As a Canadian Forces Chaplain, your first duty is to your country and your fellow personnel...

    Frustrated .. I am seeing a red

armychick put it quite well. I've had my application open since November 2009, and I won't get selected for a job offer (if I even receive one at all; but I'm staying positive) until at least next April. You should definitely look into doing all those things to become a stronger applicant for...

WHEN IS the next Naval Officer Assessment Board (NOAB) ?

The NOAB is taking place right now, and I've been told they have too many applicants for the spots they have. It is very unlikely they will not select all their MARS candidates from that pool, so I would say you're out of luck until next fiscal year. As far as issues, unless you have some...
