As the evacuees were fleeing because of the fighting they shouldn't need anyone to tell them that. Who's going to take a tax or phone bill on vacation with them? Besides evacuating them is fine, but they should have to cover the costs. If however they were actually residents here the government...

How odd, there was rape, murder and assault going on when I lived in Ottawa too. 12 years ago. Perhaps the criminals back then looked into their crystal meth balls and forsaw the war and so turned to violence.  :o

There is hope though, the NDP didn't win in any ridings in our provincial elections. I was so happy, (though that was marred somewhat due to the liberals getting in). Perhaps people are beginning to realise what a bunch of wacked out space junkies they are.

Unfortunately we are charging them nothing. We taxpayers are footing the 85 million dollar bill to evacuate these people from the country that they live in. :rage:  How screwy can things get?  Especially considering that normally the government asks people to repay them the cost of evacuation...
