I couldn't agree with you more however, this scenario isn't limited to the reserves. Curious, do the reserves get a recruiting allowance of any sort if they join an understrngthed trade?

I honestly think that we need to bring back the in your face, ball busting training regime of the past. If these kids are as spoiled as we say they are then they need a rude awakening if they want to serve beside me overseas.

PS - About the log book. As a 211 (now 215), we had to an OJT package for our 4's which could be seen as a log book of sorts.

According to the CFSCE website there is only a LCIS Apprentice (QL3) crse and a LCIS Supervisors crse. For the Supervisor crse there is a prerequisite for a journeyman (QL5) qualification however, there is no information on the journeyman's course.

Upon release you are asked if you want to be put on a supplementary reserve list. This is supposed to make it easier if you decide to join up again or join a reserve force.  Theoretically, the sup res list could also be used to call you back for duty but I don't that has ever been executed in...

I don't think this thread is about feeling unarmed with our issued weapons. Don't get me wrong, I find the C7 an extremely fine piece of kit. I believe that this is a great thread about the pros and cons of both weapons. I for one have gained a wealth of information and insight into the topic.
