I believe that CBC would be the right people to talk to. I remember Don Cherry saying something about hats available through the CBC. Hope that helps

There is a service requirement of 3 years for both medals. For the Lord Strath you must be Silver Star qualified or higher.

Blackdown will most likely take you as long as you fit the staff cadet requirements (which is basically being 16 as of Jan 1st of the year you are staffing), they are always understaffed and need staff cadets. Then again the region thing could come into play but I'm not too sure.

2 week courses do not participate in Battalion Parades because their training does not permit them to be. They train on the Saturdays and maybe Sundays, Basics also do not get leave so therefore I doubt you would be able to get out for the weekend.

Battalion Parades are important but cadets have left on Fridays and Saturday mornings before. As long as they have valid reasons (a wedding would count) it should be ok to miss it.
