:o
My god, that's shocking: soldiers forced to use rifles AND grenades, there needs to be an inquiry. ::)
I'm sure being in the Army would be just the cushiest job in the world if it weren't for all the "military" stuff.
Ease up there mate.
I doubt that would make Canada very popular in Australia and New Zealand, the Gallipoli landings are seen as the 'true' birth of our nations, loss of our innocence, and the ANZACs who served there (all since passed away) are held in almost god like status by the entire...
Not only did this idiot lie, he used Australia as a pawn to do so, and worst of all it's lying about an issue that is non-existent here in Aus.
There is no argument over our deployments in afghanistan, actually that's not true, there have been calls, from some factions in the moderate left in...
The girls and thier team will have an unfair advantage.
The guys on the other will not check and hit with all they can, even in competitive sport most blokes will not go all out against a girl.
Thus the team with women has that unfair advantage.
That ruling is bloody ridiculous, the...
Most western Armies, in aprticular those in the English speaking world, don't subscribe to such warrior ethos. And it doesn't do them or their soldiers any harm.
What really stumps me is that often the people who claim to "support troops by protesting to bring them home" are the same people who demonise and abuse Servicemen by labelling troops by all sorts of names.

The standard of defence reporting in this country is abysmal.
"Troops" on frigates, ships...
But at that price, with all the support equipment and vehicles included, delivered in such a short time and an MBT with almost total commanility with our primary ally, it really was the best choice.
And if we ever needed to defend on home soil, MBT's, of whatever amount we could possibly...
It would be interesting to know more details about what happened. But I doubt that will happen, certainly not as long as the violence and tension remain as they are.
There is a difference between talking (mostly mindlessly, against all defence advice, and about completely unworkable proposals) and actually governing. The Australian Labor party has proven that it isn't responsible re:defence when in government.
Actually, Liberal here in Australia has the...
A job very well done by the Coalition forces.
I think the Japanese engineers are now heading home, but the Australian and British troops are heading to a different, perhaps more dangerous area.
good luck :salute:
