All things Joint Sigs Regt/JSR (merged)

Indeed, and I eventually wouldn't mind giving your unit a shot in a few years for a change of pace. If anyone there does have any questions about LCSS, feel free to fire me a PM anyways. You guys should really bug for the new LCSS courses CFSCE is starting to train ppl on. Good place to start...

    DP 1.1 IST

Well that's just fantastic... I was hoping the beginner IST course would be at least some server administration at a minimum. So these guys will get the "this is a computer" course in extreme, then come back to the units and have to have a "this is a server"... So it'll be like before, got it...

All things Joint Sigs Regt/JSR (merged)

Someone in the sandbox with me here said they'll be one of JSR's LCSS Server det people when they're back after tour. Interesting, I can't wait to see what they try and do with good ole' LCSS! Sure ain't no DWAN or CSNI! Good Luck JSR, you're the army's all-in-one toolbox! Although I'm sure...

Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

Wow, so that won't make people want to quit. I've submitted my PLAR awhile back and I've heard absolutely nothing at all as of yet. My name has sat unchanged on the dreaded ACISS DIN website, only to have been deleted a few times and re-added. I highly doubt with the current fiscal goals (to...

    Foreign hackers attack Canadian government

My friends, it's well known that China has been 'data' mining for years now... They're just getting really good at it after all the practice they've had it seems... They've re-routed all internet traffic through thier servers 'by accident' also...

Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

Anyone gone through yet and submitted themselves and their MPRR's for PLAR into a different sub-trade? Shortly I hope to be writing mine up and sending it in...

    Electronic Log Books anyone?

I'm not sure what the exact system requirements are but I'm sure if you fired off a RFI to NESS they'd fix you up quickly. That or the folks at DLCSPM2-3.

    Electronic Log Books anyone?

Yeah that's called WarLogger... Not sure how you could get ahold of a copy... They still use it at the school to simulate what you'd be using if you were at a CP. Maybe some units do still use it I suppose... Gotta use the tab key a lot that's what I got from it! Depending on where you work, if...

    Military Friendly Lawyer?

Hello folks, May seem like a weird question, but does anyone know of a military friendly lawyer in the Edmonton area? I'm deploying in a little while and would like to get a will & power of attourney and all that done before I go. Thanks in advance!

To members in the Lincoln and Welland Regiment infantry regiment

I was in the Lincs, until I went Reg force. Send me a PM with your questions... The Lincoln and Welland regiment was a fantastic unit and I had a great time with them. Did a lot of training with both the units you mentioned from Hamilton also... I still have friends in the Lincs!

Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

So it's been awhile since I posted in this thread, I've been awful busy being a Sig Op, now probable -IST.  Or so I've been named on the magic list of people on the ACISS website... I kept an eye on this though and gained some insight from it. But we were all mostly told the same, from across...

Wanted: Private Sector IT'ists to Backfill for Deploying CF IT'ists

Hence why they're going to be hard pressed to truly find any decent IT people. Who wants to go work somewhere / start a career somewhere... For a year?... Waste of time just about...

Wanted: Private Sector IT'ists to Backfill for Deploying CF IT'ists

This may be news to some, but they've been telling us Sig Ops and various other Sig types about this for the past year, year and a half or so. It's one of thier 'stop gaps' to fix our manning issues in the Sig world, and they figure, why can't a civvy do a safe, static, non-tactical job and...

    LSVW Penthouse?

We have quite a few we still use a 1 Sigs out West here... I suppose it depends on where you go!

    Electronic Log Books anyone?

Where I work, in something some of you might be familiar with as a tactical field deployable computer network (NOT DWAN or CSNI) used by the Brigade and Battlegroup officers at their command locations, our electronic log book is basically the chat program/system in place that logs EVERYTHING...

Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

So, I must admit, and doubly apologize that shortly after I wrote the first post in this thread, I went AWOL from army.ca basically...  :-[ Nonetheless, I've been doing some catching up reading through bits and pieces on here of the 15 pages... I have no new info... All I've heard/known first...

Int Op trade tell me more and more reg force please

Very interesting thread, some good info. I very recently spoke with a few Int Op's who were at an annual "education and job" fair here at CFB Edmonton. They were mentioning how the trade is so incredibly short staffed at the moment that it's a great time to join due to the somewhat relaxed...

Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

Yeah, that's the funny part. Techs and Ops are being amalgamated as I stated in the original post. LCIS Techs, Sig Ops and Lineman will basically be the same trade eventually. Where you will specialize in a given field depending on you're training after you're 3's and any previous knowledge or...

Well, went to the WRONG BP's... Lol....  ::) So we went, but unfortunately we didn't meet any of you because we went to the BP's RIGHT outside the base... Owell, next time I guess, I'm sure in another few months we can arrange something again! Did they make you folks pay $10 to watch the UFC...
