If the estimated buy back is $60K and the increase estimated increase is $1,000 per month ($2,400 - $1,400), shouldn't the break even period be 60 months (vice years) or 5 years?

From the briefings I have received from our IPSC, the reservists are only attached posted.  They also encourage a return to work program so the soldier isn't stripped from their military family unless absolutely necessary.  The IPSC provides full time monitoring and knowledge of the medical systems.

Within my CBG, anyone with a Cl B over a year long is transferred to the employing unit's established position.  If the member wants to return, there has to be an open Cl A position with the original unit.  That is the risk that I took when I accepted my Cl B/A.

The Army Reserve Units do parade on Wednesday nights in Alberta.  I would expect to get a hold of people in September.  The summer is a bad time to try to get a hold of anyone.  Which units are you thinking of, since I work at the Brigade HQ in Alberta.

The Army Reserve can be different.  There are quite a few officers enrolled as 2Lts with their commission before ever taking a single military course.

In Alberta, officers take the BMQ with the soldiers, then take a leadership portion (BMOQ Part 2).  During this training year, both of these courses were run on weekends.

The unit in Edmonton is 41 Service Battalion, 15 Forward Support Group.  They are located in Debney Armoury, in the south of Edmonton.  If you go EME Officer, I hope you have lots of time to take the courses.  Currently, Reserve EME O's take the Reg F phase courses, which are about 3 months long.

The next course is BMOQ - 2, which used to be BOTP - 2.  As to the changing names and acronyms, you will have to get used to it.  They change all the time.

The Reserve Army doesn't have Career Managers.  By the time the poster gets enrolled and trades trained, who knows what the deployment opportunities will be for Reservists to deploy.

That may be the case in the Air Reserve, but in the Army Reserve there are "acting lacking" ranks.  True they are rare.  For the CSS trades, Army Reserve, Pte only need QL3 and 2 years Time in Service.

The date of the election may not be a surprise who is running could be.  Nomination day for Calgary this year was 20 September 2010.  That does not leave much time to get the ballots there and back.
